Thoughtful Thursday

“Real change, enduring change, happens one step at a time.” ~ Ruth Bader Ginsburg
We tend to celebrate change once it is visible.
The new program.
The new habit.
The new direction.
The breakthrough everyone can finally see.
What we do not always notice are the hundreds of smaller decisions that came before it.
The conversation that shifted someone's thinking.
The question that challenged an assumption.
The decision to try something differently, even when no one else noticed.
The willingness to return tomorrow and take another step.
Meaningful change rarely arrives all at once. It is built through consistency, patience, and the courage to keep moving when progress feels almost too small to measure.
That can be difficult when we are surrounded by messages telling us to move faster, accomplish more, and produce visible results.
Ruth Bader Ginsburg's words remind us that slow does not mean stagnant.
A single step may not transform a system, a classroom, an organization, or a life.
A thousand intentional steps can.
Perhaps today's question isn't: How far do I still have to go?
Perhaps it is simply:
What is the next step I can take?
