“March is the month of expectation.” — Emily Dickinson

Expectation is a powerful word.

It will be March this weekend. March sits between what was and what could be. Winter has not fully released its grip. Spring has not fully arrived. This is the space of anticipation. The space where we prepare before we see results.

In schools, in leadership, in life, March moments matter.

Expectation is not passive wishing. It is active readiness. It is planned to plant the garden before the first bloom. It is building systems before the results appear. It is strengthening relationships before the crisis comes.

What are you expecting this season?

  • Are you expecting growth without preparation?

  • Are you expecting change without adjustment?

  • Are you expecting excellence without clarity?

Expectation shapes behavior. Leaders who expect professionalism create structures that support it. Teachers who expect growth design lessons that stretch thinking. Parents who expect responsibility create opportunities for independence.

March reminds us that expectation is a discipline.

This is the month to:

• Revisit your goals

• Refine your systems

• Reset your energy

• Prepare for what you say you want

Expectation is a quiet kind of confidence. It says something good is coming. It also says I am doing the work to meet it.

What are you preparing for right now?
