“In summer, the song sings itself.” ~William Carlos Williams

There is something about summer that asks less of us.

The days stretch a little longer. The light stays with us. Windows open, music carries farther, and even ordinary moments begin to feel like memories while we are still living them.

Summer reminds us that not everything meaningful has to be forced, scheduled, or carefully produced. Sometimes joy arrives on its own. It is found in bare feet, evening skies, unexpected laughter, long drives, ocean air, and the people who make time feel slower.

Perhaps the invitation of summer is simply to notice.

To stop trying so hard to create the perfect moment and allow ourselves to be present for the one already happening. To listen closely enough to hear the music in the everyday.

Sometimes, when we give life enough room, the song really does sing itself.
