“Before we rush into summer, may we pause long enough to notice how far we have come.”
~Dr. Catherine V. Addor
June has a way of pulling us forward. The calendar fills with celebrations, ceremonies, deadlines, final projects, closing tasks, and the promise of summer waiting just beyond the finish line.
It is easy to move so quickly toward what is next that we forget to honor what has already happened.
Students have grown in ways that may not fit neatly on a report card. Teachers have adjusted, encouraged, redirected, planned, revised, and tried again. Families have supported routines, managed transitions, celebrated small wins, and carried more than anyone may ever fully see.
The end of the school year is not only about completion. It is about recognition.
Before we close the classroom doors, pack the backpacks away, or shift into summer mode, let’s pause. Let’s notice the confidence built, the challenges met, the relationships deepened, and the quiet resilience that carried everyone through.
Summer will come.
Today, we can make space to see the journey.
