Mindful Monday

There is something tender about the last days of summer.

The light shifts a little earlier. The evenings cool. The things we meant to do suddenly feel numbered, and we become more aware of what is quietly slipping into the past.

Mindfulness asks us not to rush through these in-between moments.

You do not have to squeeze one more perfect summer memory into the calendar. You do not have to mourn what you did not get to. You can simply notice what is still here.

Sit outside a little longer.

Notice the warmth that remains in the afternoon sun.

Listen to the sounds that will soon be replaced by falling leaves, school routines, earlier sunsets, and closed windows.

Transitions have a way of making us look ahead so quickly that we forget to honor what is ending.

Summer does not disappear all at once. It leaves slowly, giving us a few last chances to pay attention.

This week, instead of asking, “What do I still need to fit in?” try asking:

What do I want to notice before this season changes?

Sometimes the most meaningful way to say goodbye to a season is not to do more.

It is simply to be there while it is still here.
