The Middle of Summer
The middle of summer has a rhythm all its own.
The excitement of the last day of school has faded, but the rush of a new year has not yet begun. The days are still long. The evenings still invite us to linger. Yet somewhere beneath the sunshine, we may already feel the calendar beginning to move.
This is the moment to pause.
Not to count how many days are left. Not to make a list of everything we have not yet done. Not to rush toward what comes next.
Instead, notice what is here.
The sound of summer outside your window. The warmth of the sun. A slower morning. A conversation that lasts a little longer. A day without every minute scheduled.
The middle of summer is not a halfway point to hurry past. It is an invitation to settle into the season while it is still here.
Take a breath. Look around. Let today be enough.
