Remembering With Gratitude

Memorial Day invites us to pause.

Before the parades, the gatherings, the long weekend, and the start-of-summer traditions, there is a deeper purpose. Memorial Day is a day to remember and honor those who died while serving our country.

A mindful Memorial Day holds both gratitude and reverence. It allows space for joy while remembering the sacrifice that made so many freedoms possible.

For children, this matters. They learn what we name. They notice what we pause for. They understand meaning when we take the time to explain that this day is not simply a day off, but a day of remembrance.

May we move through this Memorial Day with care. May we remember the lives behind the sacrifice. May we honor them not only with words, but with the way we live, serve, and show up for one another.
