The Power of Career & Technical Education
Career and Technical Education (CTE) is more than a pathway; it’s a bridge. It connects classroom learning with real-world skills, giving students the chance to explore careers, discover passions, and build confidence in their abilities.
When students wire a circuit, weld a beam, prepare a culinary dish, design a website, or run a business plan, they are learning for life. CTE develops problem-solving, teamwork, and leadership while preparing students for industries that keep our communities moving.
As leaders and educators, we should ask ourselves:
Are we giving students multiple entry points to success, not just a single academic track?
Do our communities truly value the hands-on, applied knowledge that CTE programs deliver?
How might celebrating CTE change the way we think about “college and career readiness”?
Let’s recognize CTE students and teachers for showing us that education is most potent when it blends knowledge, skill, and purpose.
